At Estelle Skin Care & Spa Institute, we’re always excited when someone chooses to attend our beauty school and takes steps to advance their career. Created in 1998, our esthetician programs offer advanced learning to ensure our graduates are highly trained and prepared for a career in the beauty industry. With the ability to finish a program in as little as six months, we provide aspiring estheticians with a quality education in a short amount of time.

If you’ve recently signed up for one of our programs and you’re wondering how you can best prepare for your first day of school, in today’s blog post, we have some great advice and insight to ensure your first day goes off without a hitch.

How to Prepare for a Successful First Day of Beauty School

Come Prepared

Get ready to learn by coming to class prepared with a notebook, pens/pencils, and a planner to keep track of important information. You’ll also want to make sure that you have beverages and snacks to keep you hydrated and full — no one likes to learn on an empty stomach. Last, but certainly not least, make sure you have any go-to items that you know you’ll need throughout the day such as hand sanitizer, chapstick/lip gloss, gum, phone charger, and deodorant/ perfume.

Be Ready to Learn

Aside from making sure you have all of the physical things you’ll need for a successful first day, you’ll also want to make sure your mind is ready to learn. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, and don’t feel like you should understand everything right away. If you want to get a head start, you can come to class prepared by going over the new COVID-19 sanitation and safety guidelines.

Wear Comfortable Clothing

You already know that a career in the beauty industry is fast-paced and comfortable clothes are a must. The same thing goes for beauty school. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty and that you know you can comfortably move around in for more hands-on lessons. Forget the heels and wear closed-toed shoes, preferably comfy sneakers!

Get Excited!

Truly, your excitement level will have a lot to do with how well your first day goes. If being an esthetician is something you’re passionate and excited about, it’s likely that schooling will come naturally to you. While of course there will be learning curves and processing information, beauty school will really be what you make of it and how hard you’re willing to try. Bring your excitement and passion every day, and you’re sure to be successful!
